Lung Vai School

Lung Vai School was built on a high mountain, cold wind, located in Minh Tan commune - Vi Xuyen district - Ha Giang province - where the Mong people live. The space of continuous high and low movement, inspired by winding hills and mountains, terraced fields and blocky roofs, is firmly attached to the terrain - the context. The school site consists of two preschool classes, one elementary class, with a combination of flexible and lively shapes to inspire children. The landscape is brought into the work, blurring the boundary between inside - outside.

Due to the difficult conditions, the projects take advantage of different local materials combined with the application of science and technology so that the materials are of better quality and more sustainable. The school uses ground leveling, degraded soil, combined with additives to present the wall. The roof uses a steel frame and 3-layer multi-colored corrugated iron, with high durability, rain and sun protection, good insulation, ensuring transportation on mountainous terrain and is aesthetically pleasing and harmonious in the scenery.
