Lung Vai School was built on a high mountain, cold wind, located in Minh Tan commune - Vi Xuyen district - Ha Giang province - where the Mong people live. The space of continuous high and low movement, inspired by winding hills and mountains, terraced fields and blocky roofs, is firmly attached to the terrain - the context. The school site consists of two preschool classes, one elementary class, with a combination of flexible and lively shapes to inspire children. The landscape is brought into the work, blurring the boundary between inside - outside.

The Na Khoang area is situated in Yen Chau district, Son La province, and is home to the Thai ethnic community. The people here face significant challenges due to the rugged mountainous terrain and limited transportation infrastructure. Moreover, the local school is in a dilapidated state and lacks classrooms.

After the space organization plan was agreed with the people and local authorities through Charrette, the architect team 1+1>2 was given the task of detailed design. Supporting the architects are the Action Center for Urban Development staff, ward officials, and volunteers. We spread out across the playgrounds in Hoi An and Da Nang, taking notes, consulting children and parents, observing how they played. Many times we forget we are working, because we also "enter the game". In the end, the design was presented to the children and parents.

Nam Dam (Nậm Đăm) is a minority village in Quan Ba District, Ha Giang – Vietnam’s northernmost province. Locating on top of the mountain and covering with pristine forests and picturesque terrace fields, this area is known for its rich cultural characters: traditional costume, festivals, brocade, cuisines, herbal bath, and buildings in rammed earth.  Nevertheless, Nam Dam is isolated by mountains, lack of connection with other areas and sufficient infrastructure, resulting in loc­­­­­­­­­­­­­­als’ poor living standard and difficult children’s accessibility to education.
